Vacation Extravanganza – Day 4 (Labor Day)

September 1, 2008 at 6:26 pm (Vacation) (, , )

So Labor Day was pretty uneventful. We spent the majority of the day like this.

Finally we decided about 3:00 that we might want to shed our jammies and actually join the world of the living. We both showered and headed out to the backroads to see what new places we could discover. We traveled to Lynnville in Giles County which isn’t too far from our house but decided we would make this town an adventure for another day when we would have more time to look around.

We drove on and eventually ended up in Columbia. We weren’t sure what we wanted to do so we stopped and ate while we decided. Afterwards I drove us to the Maury County park which in located on one side of town, but then decided to go to the Woodland Park instead. It is located in the middle of Columbia on what was once a large plantation. The land was donated to the city in the 1970s I believe, and the city built a park on it. Here are couple of pictures I snapped.

Afterwards we headed to the city square and walked around. We had the entire place to ourselves as the town evidently become a ghosttown at sunset.

After making our way around the squre we headed back to the house. I wonder what new adventures tomorrow will bring.

Just caught up on stuff after not having had a chance to for a while – what pretty pictures! Love them, thanks for sharing. And I didn’t even know there was a LYNNville, TN. Which is kind of odd, all things considered…
